Signs

Rapid eye movement (REM) is the most obvious sign that a person is dreaming. This can be detected by the slight fluttering of the eyes below the eyelid.
They occur when the person is in deep sleep.

There may be movements, speech or sudden increase in breathing rate.
If the dream involves more than one person, there may be a change in facial expression.
